Chef Alison Trinkle
After completing two years of college, Allison wasn’t finding her direction and wanted to drop out. Her mom wasn’t having it! She took her to the local library to look through a book of careers. The job of Chef jumped off the page. Fast forward to current day, Chef Allison has been on an amazing journey of culinary development, leading her to the leadership position she holds today.
What Passion Makes Chef Alison Tick at Work?
“I’m super passionate about forging local community partnerships, particularly with diverse, authentic suppliers, restaurants and products. As one of the world’s leading providers of food services, we can use our size and scale to make meaningful change.”
Through our Purchasing,
We Support Inspirational People and Businesses.
“By working strategically with local vendor partners and giving them the opportunity to be visible within the campus community, we’re helping them grow. Providing access to student meal plan funds and promoting authenticity through our culinary storytelling really can be life-changing for many.”
Diverse Business Makes for Better Business.
“When we’re able to provide diversity through the food, we know that we have happier students on campus. Opening their eyes to new and emerging cuisines is rewarding.
In my role I work hard to help increase the number of diverse suppliers we work with, creating avenues for women and minority-owned companies. By building a more diverse, equitable and inclusive supply chain, we’re able to better serve the communities where we operate.”
Leading From the Front.
“I also encourage my culinary colleagues to bring this same ethos to their work. And each day I have the opportunity to pay it forward, growing and advancing careers for Chartwells chefs. My motto is: If you want to grow within any organisation, you need to make your presence known. Stand up and stand out.”
